In an ideal world, the club would be able to afford to rent buses for the players to get to all away games. However, this year the schedule and the price of the buses conspire against us so that we cannot afford to rent buses for every game. The Board and the Coaches have agreed that the best way forward on this is to adopt a policy to only rent buses fro games that are more than 20 miles (one way) away from the School. For the closer games, we will be asking for parents help in getting the players to the games. Thank you.
For the Spring 2012 season, this means that there will NOT be buses for the following games:
Boys at VFMA (~5 miles)
Girls at Media United (~10 miles)
U15 at Downingtown (~17 miles)
For the game at Unionville, the Girls and Boys will share one bus.
As always, the coaches will post information about meeting times and locations for all games.

Please use the drop down menu at the top for the U-19 & U-15 schedules. They are accurate. The schedule tab on the left is not. |

I am delighted to announce that Liz Seaden (Mom of Alex) has volunteered to take on the role of VP for the U-15s. Liz will join the Club Board to ensure that the U15s are represented and provide coordination between the Board, the U-15 parents and the U-15 coach, Pat Humbert. Just because Liz has volunteered does not let all of the other U-15 parents off the hook - please provide her with all the support that you can. Thanks Liz! |

Hello everybody,
This is a quick "heads up" about a new fundraiser we're starting soon for Conestoga Rugby Club.
We're excited to be selling Giving Bean Coffee and Artisan Teas.
Giving Bean is a local, gourmet coffee roaster providing a variety of freshly roasted whole bean
and ground coffees, fine tea, gourmet cocoa, chai, and biscotti.
We figure that just about everyone enjoys a great cup of coffee (or tea) in the morning!
- All coffee is roasted-to-order and arrives fresh, assuring its great taste
- Prices are $12 per bag of coffee and tea, comparable to other high quality coffees and teas
- Labels will include our new logos and will say "Thank you for supporting Conestoga Rugby Football Club"
The funds from this fundraiser will help to off-set costs required to support our season!
Start Date: 2/16/2012 - order forms will be distributed
Orders Due: 3/18/2012 - enter your totals online (at a special web page just for us)
Product Delivery Date: 7-10 days after orders are due in.
We are looking forward to a successful fundraiser! (Tell your coffee and tea loving friends it's coming).
We really need everyone to each sell at least 5 items to help make this a success.
Thanks, The Fund Raising Committee

Below in the attachments, you will find a form which permits CHS Rugby to use your last name on our website (for the "Rosters" page for each team). Please download it, fill it out, and either send it to Mr. Harris or bring it to practice and give it to your team's VP (Mr. Archibald - Boys, Mr. Nelsen - Girls). |

With thanks to those of you who signed up, this newapproach really did not take off - perhaps because the problems we were have with stogarugby08 have pretty much gone away - so we are going to abandon. I have deleted the group and all associated records. |

There is almost daily coverage of international rugby on cable on the "Fox Soccer Plus" channel but, unfortunately. this requires an additional subscription fee. There are also free sites rugbydump.com has clips of different games and wiziwig has live games streamed. (Wiziwig takes some getting used to so don't get discouraged if at first it seems hard to figure out, it is worth it) However, there is a unique opportunity to see some slightly more accessible top-class rugby over the coming weeks as BBC America broadcasts live coverage of the 6 Nations tournament between England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and Italy. We highly recommend that you try to watch as much rugby as possible - if you dont have access to BBC America, persuade one of the other players to let you watch it at their house. As you can see, England feature prominently but then I'm sure you will agree that is just the natural order of things :-) The schedule is:
Scotland vs. England Murrayfield in Edinburgh Saturday, February 4, 12 pm ET
France vs. Ireland Stade de France in Paris Saturday, February 11, 3 pm ET
England vs. Wales Twickenham in London Saturday, February 25, 11 am ET
Wales vs. Italy Millennium Stadium in Cardiff Saturday, March 10, 9:30 am ET
England vs. Ireland Twickenham in London Saturday, March 17, 1 pm ET |

Practices will start tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31 at 5:00pm at YSC. Check the Directions page for directions to the facility. If you have not yet completed your forms, please make sure you attend. While you may not be able to participate fully yet, it is important that you be there to get the coaching that will be shared. |
