Conestoga Rugby Club Policies

CONESTOGA RUGBY CLUB CONSTITUTION

The purpose of this organization shall be to teach and improve rugby skills to high school and middle school players, to promote team spirit through competitive games with other school rugby clubs, to provide athletic conditioning as well as the conditioning of the players' aggression in a sportsman-like manner on and off the field, and to recognize and promote the national growth and interest of high and middle school rugby.

Payment / Return of Membership Fees

Conestoga High School Rugby Football Club wants to encourage as many players as possible to try out rugby. To this end, we have a very flexible policy on refunding membership fees for players who register with us, pay their membership fees in full, but subsequently decide they do not wish to continue with the sport in a given year. However, we are also constrained by the insurance policies of USA Rugby. To be covered by USA Rugby insurance for contact play, we must register each player with Rugby PA/USA Rugby and pay the annual fee. Hence, we must have players registered with PA/USA Rugby and pay their fees before we can allow players to practice (and get a good idea of the game).

So, our policy on membership fees is that all players must register and pay their full membership fees before they can participate, ideally before mid-February. Players who provide written notice to the club President before March 7 of the registration year that they do not wish to continue playing rugby with Conestoga Rugby will be refunded their membership fees minus the cost of registration with Rugby PA/USA Rugby and the costs of any team equipment not returned (e.g. shorts, socks). Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
